Here's just a few things I really want to get! Unfortunately, I don't have much money at the moment and as I'm going to NEW YORK I need to save up! What to do...

Also, speaking of New York, I recently got an interview from a university which I was obviously ecstatic about... that was until I realised I am away then!! Absolute nightmare. I have emailed the university to try and reschedule. Fingers crossed!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

First, I'd like to start with my big news... I'm going to New York this Christmas! I absolutely LOVE New York, particularly in the winter. I've been a few times now, and I am so excited. Originally, it was me and my mum and sister, but now my best friend's coming with her mum too! I am so happy they are coming too.. it will be amazing. I'm not going to be there on Christmas Day, but I'm going just before. So for anyone who lives in New York, I might just see you there!

Second, we got our first bit of snow yesterday in Liverpool! It was only light, and didn't really stick, but that means there's more to come! Everyone got so excited, I just love this time of year. Also, I helped out at this Christmas fair at my school today. It was fun - kind of. My mum turned up at the end, with my little puppy George. (I should do a post on him!) He is so cute, he has a little coat for the winter because he had all his hair cut and it's red plaid.. very festive.

So yes, that was my little update, hopefully more to come! Although, I am hibernating tonight, due to the freezing weather! So for me it's pyjama time, in front of the fire with a blanket and George of course, and some lovely warm pie for tea.

Katy Perry

So, some of you might know, Katy Perry is coming to the UK! I am a fan of Katy Perry and her music and I absolutely LOVE her new album! I have 2 tickets for me and my best friend, however, they are right at the back, really rubbish tickets! I spoke to my friend about it and she said just sell them and we can get tickets to see someone else. Some people are telling me that it's stupid to give them away though. Should I keep them, or give them away and get tickets to see someone else with better seats?! HELP!

My Love

So for most living in the UK, there is one topic everyone is talking about this time of year. No, it’s not the credit crunch, nor is it any of our other economic crises. So what are these ongoing discussions and debates actually about? Yes, you guessed it, it’s the X Factor! Now, as a loyal viewer, I have my own opinions about the show, and no matter how much controversy surround the decisions of who leaves each week, I still find myself in the same position each Sunday night… on the edge of my seat, either about to jump in the air from joy, or fall to the floor in despair. Now for those who have not experienced this feeling, or have not followed the show as closely as I do, you may find this completely immature and naïve. But for those like me, whose weekends are organized around the TV guide, you will completely understand the position I was in last week when Aiden was kicked out, and Katie stayed. Don’t get me wrong, Katie is ‘alright’ I suppose, but when the likes of Wagner (apologies to his loyal followers) remain in the competition whilst talented singers like Aiden and Treyc are kicked off, that is when I start to question the show. My favorite you ask? Well apart from the amazing Matt Cardle, whose voice I could listen to all day, I have to admit, I am officially a typical “fangirl” of the one and only, One Direction. Unfortunately, I am morphing into the sort of person I mock each and every day. I absolutely LOVE Harry Styles. Originally, I was trying my best to rid myself of these obsessive feelings, yet I have now surrendered. I don’t care what anybody says, I LOVE HIM. Correction, I LOVE THEM. I think the reason I hated this ‘obsession’ was because not only is he almost a year younger than me, but my younger sister loves him too – and although when I say younger, it’s only by two years… it still counts!

So, here we go.. the lovely Harry and One Direction. They are the cutest thing. My guess? One Direction and Matt in the final! (Or at least that’s what I hope)

Sigma.

Recently (and by recently I mean a couple of months ago) I purchased some Sigma makeup brushes. For those that haven’t heard of Sigma brushes, they are basically similar to MAC brushes, but cheaper. You can buy the brushes individually, or in sets - there are multiple choices. I got the full set of brushes (12 altogether) and they were $99 - which is around £60. In comparison to most professional make up brushes, which can cost from around £20 up to £50 on average, these are very affordable. They also came in a lovely leather holder, which i still use, and it smells amazing (thing new leather bag sort of smell), and I also received a free travel brush. I chose the black set, but you can also buy it in pink. After having used them for a good few weeks now, I have started to appreciate how good they actually are. Not only do the hairs remain soft, but they also stay in close-to-perfect condition too! I have found the quality is great, and practically the same as MAC. Don't get me wrong, I love MAC's products, however they aren't the most affordable. One of my greatest purchases this past 6 months for sure!

iPhone vs. Blackberry

I would like to say I hate it, but in reality… I don’t. One trait I unfortunately have, and can’t help but admit to, is the need to obsess over technological objects. I constantly have my Blackberry in hand, and as soon as I get home I automatically switch my Macbook on, whether I need to use it or not, just the comfort of having it by my side soothes me. Is this wrong of me? I know you’re being cynical right now, and judging me, and you have every right to be, but seriously… it gets worse. Most of my friends either have the iPhone or a Blackberry of some form, and although I have a Blackberry myself, I want an iPhone! Does that sound ungrateful of me? My friend and I have formed a routine at our lunch times, in which we switch phones, so I use her iPhone and she uses my Blackberry. Although I do enjoy my own phone, I can’t help but want an iPhone… I suppose it’s just ‘wanting what you can’t have’ in this case. What do you think is better? iPhone or Blackberry?

Any help?

So, turns out doing this blog is harder than I thought. It's not the writing, I mean let's be honest, this is my second post, and neither have had any substance so far. But the designing etc, is what I'm finding particularly challenging. Here's a question... How can I get a fun font style for my titles and stuff? Are there any good sites or anything like that??

Sophie says... HELP?!!

Sophie says...

Hi everyone!

This is officially my first ever blog post! I have no idea what to say so I'll just introduce myself I suppose...

I am Sophie, or 'Sophie says...' and this is my blog.

That is more or less it. I'm not going to bore you with explaining my heritage, my favourite colour, and taking you through my family tree. It's simple, I am Sophie.

So, welcome to my blog. I've never done anything like this before, so bear with me.

Hopefully it goes well. Fingers Crossed.
